About Me
Tessandra de Alberdi, MS, CRC, LMHC, LADCI is the founder of PsychAdvisors, the psychotherapy private practice and advising organization located on Nantucket, MA. Tessandra received her bachelor of science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. After several years in hospitality management, she went back for her graduate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology and was awarded the Merit Scholarship from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Previous internship and work experience include the Heart and Lung Transplant Clinical at UNC Memorial Hospital, the Durham VA Medical Center, and Duke University.
After extensive research and direct therapy practice for individuals with addiction and trauma, Tessandra moved to Nantucket from Chapel Hill, North Carolina after having spent summers in her family home on Truro, Cape Cod. Nantucket sounded like an amazing opportunity. ‘Washing ashore' nearly twelve years ago, she continues to be passionate and committed to improving mental health services for all island residents. As the past Executive Director and practitioner at Fairwinds-Nantucket's Counseling Center, her goals were to increase community collaboration, lower stigma around mental health and substance misuse, expand interdisciplinary wrap-around clinical care, and create ongoing financial sustainability at the agency.
Since September 2020, Tessandra has started her own private practice to bring her skills and passion for helping others and her local community to best use.

I offer clinical supervision for graduate students seeking licensure in Massachusetts for their Licenced Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). Our time will focus on improving clinical techniques, drawing on different theoretical orientations, and identifying self-care and counter-transference issues.
Clinical Trainings

Advising
My prior leadership experience helped me take a nonprofit on the brink of collapse to excellence in under five years. This took a tremendous about of board input, donor support, and key management infrastructure. With the direct mentorship of a Baldrige consultant, I focused on operational effectiveness and efficiencies. During my nearly eight years as an executive director, I had the privilege to learn exceptional finance management, strategic and infrastructure invocation, donor development, and staff development.
